God’s Design: Differences as a Mirror to the Heart
Just as God gave us the Law – not to condemn us, but to show us our need for a Savior, to illuminate our sins and our wrongs – so too has He given us color, ethnicity, and all our beautiful differences.
These distinctions are not meant to divide us, but rather, they serve a purpose akin to the Law: they reveal the condition of our hearts. When we encounter someone different from ourselves, what is our immediate reaction? Do we see a fellow human being created in God’s image, or do prejudices and biases surface?
Our differences, in essence, act as a mirror, exposing the “sins of the heart” – such as hatred and racism. They challenge us to look inward and confront any attitudes that are contrary to God’s love and unity. In this light, our diverse world becomes a powerful instrument in God’s hand, continually calling us to examine our hearts and align them with His perfect will.
It’s a profound thought: God uses the very fabric of our diverse creation to highlight where we fall short in love and acceptance, prompting us towards reconciliation and true wholeness in Christ Jesus.
